We are heading into our 12th year of operation but our mission remains unchanged... we aim to ignite the fire of surfing in campers thru a week of serious FUN in the ocean! What makes us different is our group of instructors and counselors have been with us for many years...and most started as campers! This year might be the best cast of leaders we have ever assembled! Campers get a chance to work with each instructor throughout the week and learn on a personal level.
We continue to refine and improve our format of surf and sand games, daily challenges and final day MINI-COMP to make sure each and every camper progresses and enjoys a week in the ocean!
Requirements
Minimum age 8 years
All campers must be able to swim proficiently (exp. if you've passed the swim test at the YMCA you are good to go!)
Bring packed lunch each day
Bring sunscreen & towel
Bring rashguard or T-shirt for sun protection
Bring change of dry clothes
*** No surfboard required. If you would like to bring your own surfboard please email us. Soft tops and flexible fins are the name of the game. ***

We drop a few albums in Dropbox or Google Drive for all campers to share at the end of each session. You can view photos from years past to get a picture of what to expect!
Inclement Weather We reserve a "Flex Day" during the week which we may use as a make-up day. In the case that we can't use our flex day and conditions do not allow us to surf we plan an alternative activity. We've spent bad weather days at Jockey’s Ridge where we've hiked, skimmed, & sand-boarded the dune.
Safety
We strive to maintain a 3 to 1 (camper to instructor) ratio in the water. Nags Head Surf Camp camp is licensed & insured and lead instructors are adult and child First Aid & CPR certified.
